Dr. Sathiyamoorthy V is a Consultant Physician specialising in Diabetology and Cardiology, in Vellakovil, Tiruppur District, Tamil Nadu. He studied at Madurai Medical College and obtained the MBBS degree in 1992 and MD (General Medicine) postgraduate degree in 1996. Since then he has been in private practice in Vellakovil.

Dr. Sathiyamoorthy is trained in general ultrasound from KG Hospital and also has a certificate from Thomas Jefferson University, USA. He obtained Diplomas in Diabetology and Echocardiography through Annamalai University's distance education programme. He also completed a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from Apollo Medvarsity, Hyderabad.

Dr. Sathiyamoorthy started the Sri Kuppusamy Hospital in Vellakovil with a strength of 10 beds and a 2-bed ICU in 1998. The hospital gradually expanded and since 2003 it has 25 beds with a fully-equipped, 4-bed Intensive Care unit with ventilators, defibrillators and monitors. The hospital manages cases of Acute Myocardial Infarction (heart attack), Acute Left Ventricular failure, Cerebro-Vascular accident, acute severe Asthma, Diabetic emergencies, acute poisoning, snake bites and other emergencies. The patients are managed by well-trained and dedicated staff nurses. Sri Kuppusamy Hospital is equipped with a 24-Hours Laboratory with fully automated autoanalyser, ECG, Treadmill Test, X-ray, UGI Endoscopy, Echo and Ultrasound with Doppler facilities.

Dr. Sathiyamoorthy regularly updates his knowledge by attending national and international conferences such as APICON, American Diabetes Association annual meet, European Society of Cardiology, European Society of Diabetology, International Diabetic Federation, Cardiological Society of India, etc. He has regularly conducted Diabetic detection and awareness camps, Asthma education camps, Hypertension and Coronary Artery Disease awareness camps at Sri Kuppusamy Hospital.
